The beautiful quality of metta (lovingkindness) is essential for our own well being and for the world.  Although it is innate within us, we often lose touch, both for ourselves and the world.  Our hearts become overwhelmed or closed.  Through the practice of Metta meditation we can reawaken and develop this boundless quality so we can live with greater friendliness and kindness to all of life

This nonresidential retreat is suitable for beginning and experienced meditators. In this silent retreat we'll explore and develop the practice of Metta meditation: understanding the barriers and opening the heart. There will be periods of sitting, walking, instruction, Dharma talks, discussion and practical interactive exercises for exploring the barriers and cultivating the heart.

Join us for this annual February Metta meditation retreat.

Four Kinds of Liberation

With the intention to foster freedom and fluidity, we will investigate aspects of our lives where we get stuck, where rigidity occurs and clinging tends to rule. Exploring how we can find ease in four ways, we'll try to release the holds we have on these aspects of our lives: pleasure & displeasure, views & opinions, conventions, and the 'me-I-mine-moi' sticky-part-of-life. Ehipassiko! Come and see for urself!

This nonresidential Vipassana meditation retreat is for beginning and experienced meditators. Sitting and walking meditations are alternated.

Pascal Auclair has been immersed in the Dharma since 1997, studying with revered Asian monastic and lay Western teachers. A co-founder of True North Insight Meditation Centre in Canada, he enjoys teaching in Canada and in the US.  His depth of insight, classical training, and creative expression all combine in a wise and compassionate presence.  His warmth and humour also make him a much appreciated teacher.

"Pascal Auclair is a wonderful teacher. His depth of insight, classical training, and creative expression all combine in a wise and compassionate presence. I'm delighted that he is now sharing his dharma understanding." - Joseph Goldstein

Vipassana or insight meditation is a simple and direct practice: the moment-to-moment investigation of the mind-body process through calm, open and precise awareness. Learning to observe our experience from a place of spacious stillness enables us to relate to life with a balance of wisdom and compassion. This experience fosters clarity and penetrating insight into the nature of who we are and increased peace in our daily lives.  As insight deepens, wisdom and compassion arise.

This nonresidential meditation retreat is for beginning and experienced meditators. Sitting and walking meditations are alternated.
